Judge Valerie Caprioni denied Columbia University’s motion to dismiss in February 2020, upholding Feibleman’s Title IX, breach of contract, and promissory estoppel claims. Since then, the focus of the case turned to discovery, the deadline for which was extended several times. Fact discovery was extended to 2/12/2021, and expert discovery to 4/16/2021.

However, the case, which was originally filed in May 2019, has just settled, sparing Columbia from needing to reveal their pre-2020 training materials.

Kimberly Lau at Warshaw Burstein LLP represented Feibleman. Well done indeed.

Of course, you can also view the rest of the critical files – complaints, opinions, orders, and so forth – in our Title IX Lawsuits Database.
