Scholars File Amicus Brief in Support of ED Amid Title IX Challenge

Department of Education says schools can’t use ‘national statistics’ to justify women-only scholarships, programs
“While they can restrict eligibility by sex for “remedial or affirmative action” in “limited circumstances,” schools are still prohibited from using ‘sex-based quotas.’ Even more sweeping, they cannot ‘rely on national statistics as evidence of limited participation.’” OCR announcement here.
No Gender Bias in Peer Review: Study
“An analysis of data from nearly 150 journals across scientific disciplines finds that, if anything, manuscripts authored by women are treated more favorably than those submitted by men.” Not sure bias against men counts as “no gender bias”… Link to study.
Betsy DeVos’s Higher Ed Legacy
“DeVos ..best known for rolling back regulatory excesses of the Obama era, most notably the horrible 2011 ‘dear colleague’ letter that pressured colleges and universities to address complaints of sexual harassment extremely aggressively.”
