Providence composer sues Berklee over firing amid sexual misconduct allegations
“He returned to the school in February to a reduced class load. A month later, signs went up around the Boston campus and neighboring streets implying that Farzinpour and other male professors were sexual predators and reading ‘We will not be silenced,’ the suit says.” This lawsuit is Farzinpour v. Berklee College of Music.

Evers blocks UW from complying with Trump sex assault rules
“Governor Evers blocked University of Wisconsin System officials Monday from taking the first steps toward complying with new federal rules that bolster the rights of sexual misconduct defendants…”

FIRE president responds to ACLU lawsuit against Title IX reforms
“If the ACLU’s lawsuit were to succeed, it would erase one of the biggest victories for campus free speech in decades.”

State appeals court reverses ruling in Matt Boermeester’s USC expulsion case
LA Times article the recent win in Boermeester v. USC. The complainant was not the “victim” (his girlfriend, who came to his defense and was threatened by USC for it). The appellate court determined USC violated Boermeester’s rights to cross-x.

Attorneys General Sue DeVos, Education Department Over Title IX Rule
“Andrew Miltenberg, who has defended hundreds of students accused of sexual misconduct, said it’s unfortunate the attorneys general are attempting to block the new regs, ‘and the ability for all students to have due process rights in Title IX hearings.’” Complaint here.
