Biden Title IX Final Rule Defeated
The Biden Title IX final rule has been vacated in federal court in a summary judgment decision by Judge Danny Reeves. Judge Reeves took senior status shortly following Trump’s inauguration.
Proposed Illinois Bill Mandates One-Year Expulsion for Students Committing Sexual Assault on School Grounds
Text of the bill here. “The bill states that this expulsion policy would apply to incidents occurring โat a school, a school-sponsored activity or event, or any activity or event that bears a reasonable relationship to school.”
Florida coach Todd Golden cleared in Title IX investigation regarding sexual harassment allegations
“The school released a statement Monday saying no evidence was found and it ended its investigation. It comes amid No. 5 Florida’s best season in a decade, with the Gators winning 18 of their first 20 games.”
Lawsuit: Elms College professor asked class to scrutinize students’ sexual assault allegations
A lawsuit claims an Elms College professor handed out copies in class of a currently-active Title IX (sex assault) lawsuit against the college, asked students if they recognized the plaintiff (who is still enrolled at the school), and asked if she was credible based on their reading of the complaint.
